This little radio was exactly what I was looking for. I’ve had it for a few months now and it has not aged a day. It is very reliable, hard to beat for emergency, hiking, biking, backpacking or just traveling light. It does all I need to get thru hurricane season. Even can use if there is oo electric. Gets good reception This radio works wonderfully i use it at work and have not had to charge even after a full charge it is still good enough to go when needed. "When Hurricane Florence came into SE North Carolina we lost all power and for a couple days couldn't even fire up the generators. During that period that little hand cranked radio was our lifeline to NOAA weather, local radio reports, keeping our phones charged in hopes of returning cell service and light during the scary screaming winds at night. I must have turned that crank a million times, but it never failed us, and when it was all over it went right into the emergency supplies to be ready for the next one."
"For it's size, about the size of your hand, it has one of the larger USB battery backups (2000mAh) available. Solar panel has a charging light, so you can position it for best charge. Crank handle is not fragile, so unlikely to break in use. Good radio reception. Siren, and red light - not all weather radios have that. This radio is marketed by more than one seller, in various colors, so you may get different offer prices."
"This little thing is pretty good, especially if your working on a small budget bug out bag. This radio can take 3 AAA batteries, and it has a lithium ion battery that can be crank charged, or solar charged. This radio also features two lights, one of which is pretty bright, however the other one is decent. The radio itself is pretty good for $20 it can even connect to local weather broadcasts and AM or FM radio like usual. Overall for twenty bucks this little thing offers a lot and can even charge usb devices. I feel this would be great for either a bug out bag, or even hiking and camping, because it also features an SOS mode so if you get separated from a group you can emit a loud siren and flashing red light."
"I got this to replace the radio in my older model car. I love it. I recharged it with my cell charger and it works great. The flash light is good for walking from my garage to my front door. Even though I haven't had to use the siren, I like knowing its there. Good price. UPDATE: My radio charging port got dislodged and now I can no longer charge. Disappointed it lasted 1 year only."
"This is not a radio that you will normally be carrying around the house blasting out your favorite tunes. But when an Emergency strikes this little radio might end up being your only news/weather source from the outside. It is built of durable made to last hard plastic and the solar charger seems to work adequately to provide enough charge. Why wait until the nights are dark without power and you are stumbling around in the dark- buy this radio today and keep in for that "just in case" moment."
"Actually really like it. I take it to the pool and the beach decent radio. Convenient and small fits easy in a back pack. Many uses from emergency situations to a plain radi9 that can charge your phone. I would recommend it especially if you are prone to losing power, camping, fishing, etc... easy to use and well worth the $29."
Having a backup radio and flashligt can be a lifesaver when the power goes out or you find yourself stranded. We have looked at what we think is the best emergency solar and hand cranked portable radio. This is, without a doubt, the best little radio you can have for any emergency. It is very compact and the sound and lights seem to be good. The battery life seems to be in the 70-80 day range and the hand crank seems to work adequately to provide enough juice to keep you and your loved ones out of the dark in an emergency situation. I got this for my hurricane kit. I think it's perfect for anything else you might want to add to that. Small enough to carry on your person, big enough to bike, backpacking, backpacking, whatever. I’ve never had to use it yet, but during the fires, I knew I needed an alternative source of information. Read more . . .
This is a great little radio you can crank, solar or battery for power. You can also power up your phone which is a great benefit. I was very impressed with this radio and it seems to be quality overall. I would recommend this for all non backpackers I'd say it's a bit exciting and this thing has multiple ways of being a backup power bank / radio. I believe that it is worth it you do keep this as a backup if you have no power in the house for your phone. This is for emergency use, so until I've HAD an emergency I won't really know whether it meets my standards - i.e. Read more . . .
As an added bonus the radio also comes with a flashlight and a smaller reading light. Works great, but there's a lot of going on with this item. The emergency compartment has many ways of being a power bank, and the radio works well even without the antennae out. The flashlight is good for walking around and even in the city light it's bright. The radio works well even without the antennae out and the sound is loud enough to pick up a few stations. The light is quite large too. I was looking for a crank radio for emergencies. Then I found out they have battery operated radios with solar charging, crank charging, and it can charge my cell phone. Perfect. The radio is ok sound wise, but in an emergency, as long as I can get some stations, I’m good. Read more . . .
The radio works for AM and FM radio as well as the NOAA broadcasts for weather and emergency news. Great radio, battery operated, USB port, and solar panel. Small but effective. I have this to say, I have been looking for this type of radio for awhile and finally got it! I had low expectations for this type of radio and was surprised to find out they exceeded my expectations! The sound, reception, and lights are all very good. The Solar and USB ports are a plus. The fact that it is a USB port instead of a metal tab is very nice indeed. It is a bit smaller than the impression you get in the pictures, but all in all, a good product. The weather alert station works well. Radio is impressive for such a small item. Read more . . .
This is everything it was advertised to do This radio was the best one out of all the other ones that were on Amazon honestly it works great I sat and cranked it for about 25 minutes just sitting there while it was charging my phone as well and I got a decent charge on my phone for the time of not having it charged if you have to pick one get this one I was looking for a battery operated radio for emergencies. Then I found out they have battery operated radios with solar charging, crank charging, and it can charge my cell phone. Perfect. Read more . . .
