Foxelli Triple USB Solar Charger Review

"The stove … burns husks directly to produce thermal energy for cooking and heating water and the solar panel provides light while firing the blower, we have tested the stove for emissions and have seen that it has very low emissions, making it ideal to us"

If you are looking for a reliable, convenient, and quality product, then you are going to love this solar charger. If you are looking for a truly independent charger, then I can highly recommend this one. You may have noticed that we've been using Apple's own Solar charger instead of the one from Solar. Power. We absolutely love the display, the pocket to hold charging cables, and the built-in volt meter. But we also like the volt meter. Here is why. When you buy something on amazon you want to know exactly how much it is worth. Check out Foxelli Solar Charger at Amazon now

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Solid panel at a Reasonable Price
Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2018 by Amber Gray

"So far I am a big fan of this panel. For a long time the market has either been cheep chinese models that were prone to breaking or GoalZero which is insanely over-priced. I was glad to see Foxelli come out with this as I have used the brand in the past and trust them. Especially at this price which is about a third of a comparable GoalZero panel. A note on tech specs: A lot of people don't understand tech specs and what they mean. This espesially goes for what you are plugging into the panel. For example, if the max output of the panel is 5v at 3.5A, thats 17.5W. I know you are thinking thats less than 21W buts you need the extra for inefficiancies and imperfect lgiht conditions. Furthermore, I know my phone (Google Pixel) will max out at 15W anyway and won't go any higher. Apple is often the worst and will intentionally limit the current (amps) from non-OEM devices just to make you spend $45 on a $5 charger (but that is Apple's bad, not Foxelli). Foxelli included an IOS port on this panel but it may only last until the next iPad comes out... sorry Apple fanboys. Build and Durability: So far it seems rugged enough to take out to the forrest. I like the metal grommets and the carabiners that came with it. Despite being three panelled, it is thinner folded up than my old GoalZero Nomad 7 (I'll add pictures later). I appreciate the built-in ammeter but I hope it doesn't bite them as people don't understand tech (see above). One thing I wish they did different was the zippered pouch. It is really only enough to hold a spare cable or two. They could have made it bigger and covered the ammeter with a mesh portion. Wattage: I like what it can do. Today it charged up my modest battery (7800mAh) in half a day averaging 2A in the full sun which is that the battery is limited to. If you look at something like GoalZero, the max USB output for the Nomad 7 is 1A (5W) and for the Nomad 20 its 2A (10W). For the Foxelli model, it says max output is 3.5A combined. Which means you can get a lot more out of this $50 panel than the $200 one GoalZero sells. The one big advantage to the GoalZero brand is that it can output 8mm cables at much higher voltages for charging. But not many people make those kinds of batteries. The one thing I wish would be on the Foxelli specs is what 'combined' means. Does that mean one port will output the full 3.5A if nothing else is plugged in? Or does that mean one is limited to 2A and the other 1.5A? Or something in between? Overall: I'm very happy about this panel. I think it is very high quality and, hopefully, will change the market to more reasonable and reliable products. I've added photos of it next to a GoalZero Nomad 7 Update: I'm dropping it by one star. After using it for a few days, the most I can get out of it is 14W. That is in perfect conditions with devices connected that can draw much more than that. I think one of the three panels may be dead but I can't prove it. Even as is it is still a good product, just not as good as promised. I'll update if anything changes."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Charger!
Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2018 by Eric Hirning

"We love the outdoors. We also like to take pictures & videos in the outdoors. What we don’t love is our phones or cameras going dead while we camp. We typically use external batteries to charge our devices while we sleep. If we are going to be out for an extended period of time, we have to being a lot of batteries. This can get heavy. Enter the 10w Solar Charger by Foxelli. We picked up this charger for the sole intention of charging our batteries during the day so we can charge our devices at night while we sleep. We put this charger through the paces and here’s what our tester reports. First, some quick stats: Converts up to 16% of solar energy into power for USB devices Has 2 outputs to charge 2 devices at the same time Puts out 1.85A in total charging power Automatically detects input needed for connected devices Has multiple loops (8) and 2 carabiners for hanging or attaching It is weather resistant & durable Weighs only 1.23lbs so it is hardly noticed in (or on) your pack Open size: 24.6″ x 8.7″ x .6″ Folded size: 8.7″ x 6.1″ x 1.2″ What we liked: We were really surprised ho light this was. Since it doesn’t have it’s own battery, there isn’t much to weigh this charger down. We also like all the different areas for attaching. Attaching it to a number of backpacks and there were no issues. We found that it charged best when laid out on a log angle for the right sun exposure. Being able to charge 2 separate items is also a plus. That way, we didn’t have to prioritize which device to charge first. The outside of the unit is a canvas material that is fairly easy to clean. Charging our phone How we tested the solar charger: Like I mentioned earlier, we like to use external batteries to charge our devices while we sleep (aka not using them). We charged 2 different external batteries. On of the batteries has an output of 1000mA and the other, 10,000mA. Both batteries were completely dead when we hooked them to this solar charger. Obviously, how much of a charge there exists, will effect the recharge time, so we started with dead batteries. We hooked both backup batteries to the solar charger at approximately 8:00 AM. We left the charger on a log all day, not bothering to angle it for optimal sun exposure. Each of our batteries has an led indicator to show that is is charging and how full the battery is. The 1000ma battery was fully charged by 1:00 PM! Solar Charger 2 USB outlets! Since we were charging 2 separate devices and the solar charger had to split the 1.85A, it probably would have charged even quicker had we only hooked up the 1 device. We unplugged this batter and stored it away for use in the evening. The 10,000mA battery was about 1/2 full by lunch time. At the end of the day, and the sun had gone down, the 10,000ma battery was indicating 75% charged. Keep in mind, that this larger battery will charge a phone about 4 times. Next we attached the solar charger to a back pack (vertically) and tested only the small battery. We didn’t hook it up until about 10:30 in the morning and since it wasn’t laying flat and getting full sun exposure to the whole unit, took the rest of the day to charge the battery. This smaller battery will charge a phone once per charge, so this was still pretty good. Solar Charger Charging the batteries Finally, we hooked our phone to the solar charger since there is a really good charge indication. We used a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. We laid the charger on a log then plugged in the phone. It is important to note not to put the phone in the pocket of the charger. It will get hot in there & could damage the phone. We just tucked the phone underneath. Here are the time stats: Time Battery Notes 11:05 5% Plugged phone in 11:45 38% 12:15 65% 12:45 89% 1:15 100% Charged in full! What we would change: There isn’t a whole lot we would change about this solar charger. It works and it works well! I’m sure there are people that would want different colors, but we’re good with the basic black. Some may even want a USB cable to be included but with all the different variations, that isn’t really possible"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fast, well made, powerful
Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2018 by D Young

"I have had the charger for only a few days. But so far it has been fantastic. I set it out in the morning sun at around 10 a.m. at the beach. No clouds in the sky. It took my Galaxy S8 from 60% to 100% in less than an hour. Later I plugged in a 23k mAh battery pack that was about half charged. The Foxwelli fully charged the pack in about 4 hours +/- ... which I find remarkable. In both cases the charge time was about the same as a wall outlet. The Foxelli is only a little larger in size and weight than the much more expensive 7W solar charger from the more famous guys, but with much more power amd a much faster charging time. It seems well-designed and sturdy. Plus foxelli sent a free little flashlight as a gift. Can't say enough good about it so far. I was not in any way compensated for this review. Great work, guys."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best thing I have bought all year....
Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2018 by Ryan K Ronning

"I can't imagine why anyone would ever leave negative feedback on this setup. I had an aker, okay so it was 15w but that thing sucked compared to this panel. The 21w it provides was plenty to juice up my Pixel. It was even charging when I lost total sun and only had partial panel exposure. This thing is the real deal. Also there was a good amount of thought that went into this. Having the eyelets so I can hang it from my pack when I am hiking. I have to admit the design on it is pretty cool too... just a bonus though. As for the guy who said his was falling apart. He must have gotten a bad one or something because from what I can see this thing is built to last. But they are panels and I imagine some car should be taken with them? It's not often I buy something and am blown away by not only how well it works but how functional it is. This did it."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Works exactly as you hope it will

"This is the 3rd solar charger I've purchased. The first two were phone-sized. Neither one charged much at all. After reading specs in a different review, I learned it's because at the rate they charge, it would take 2-4 WEEKS to fully recharge a device. Not the case with this product. As soon as I got it, I tested it out. It charged my phone from 50% to 100% in about 2 hours. Only about half that time was in direct sunlight. It's not heavy, and folds up flat and compact. Comes with clips so you can drape it over a pack. And the price is very reasonable. I am very impressed. Can't wait for the season's first backpacking weekend!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it did provide charging as long as it was directly in the sunlight which made it nice since we had no electricity while camping
Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2018 by Trisha Sterrett

"Pro’s: it did provide charging as long as it was directly in the sunlight which made it nice since we had no electricity while camping. Definitely a good price for what we got. Con’s: the loops were cheap and not durable. We hung it from our canopy so it would be in direct sunlight and the hoops didn’t hold. Otherwise, it did help us charge our devices when needed. Not a fast charge but a garage none the less."

Best iPhone Solar Charger

To charge an i. Phone fast and reliable you need more than a small solar panel case or similar, we recommend at least 15 Watts if you want something that works even if the conditions are not optimal. With it's 21 Watts, in our opinion the Foxelli Solar Charger is the best option for a reliable i. Phone charger. I'm very pleased with this solar charger, it did what I needed it to do to charge my phone. It is a little larger than I envisioned, but it is really well made. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants a solar charger but isn't going to pay full price for it, or who doesn't want to deal with the hassle of buying something new every time you plug it in. I had purchased the Foxelli USB chargeable headlamp above 10W, but was disappointed it did not meet my expectations. At first glance, the packaging was complimentary and seemed like it would be well received. However, I was sent a complimentary pair of binoculars instead of the intended use of the USB cables. This is a great solar charger, I recommend anyone that is looking for a little backup for long trips, camping, hiking, camping in remote places. I was verys impressed by this nice gadget I received a couple of days ago. It's seems very sturdy and in good materials. There are several places for attaching the devices to my backpack, and when walking I was able to recharge my cellphone, and a battery pack, during a day in sun with clouds. That seems fair to me. It's a no fuzz to use. Read more . . .

Lightweight iPhone Solar Charger

The Foxelli Solar Charger is ultra thin and lightweight and still very powerful. Great solar panel, unfortunately it does not come with a power bank. If you are on the fence about buying one I would say go for it. 😁👍🏻 This is a wonderful and inexpensive product for campers, hikers, bikers, or emergency power users. It works well and is very affordable. It is very important that you have this product set up to receive free power. If you are not getting power then your power is being wasted and you should be getting a solar panel. No complaints. Does it’s job. I needed a solar charger to use during the day to keep my phone at full charge while I live stream video and photos. Read more . . .

21 Watts and 3.5 Ampere is more than enough to charge two i. Phones at once and we think this is very good considering how lightweight and compact the charger is. Try Foxelli solar charger on your next outdoor adventure! I finally got enough sun to test this Dual USB Solar Charger. My first impressions are that it is an extremely good package. Everything folds up nicely and provides great protection for the product. I set up the panels facing the sun and plugged in my spare cell phone. The phone has a 1650 m. Ah battery and was at 70% charge. I checked it again after only 30 minutes and the phone was at 94%, which really amazed me. This is faster than the AC adapter for usb that I normally use to charge the phone. I look forward to using this Dual USB Solar Charger on all my outdoor trips this year. Read more . . .

Durable iPhone Solar Charger

The construction is really durable in spite of the portable and lightweight design. Good product, bad press. I have used this for a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. I was able to charge my phone with no difficulty. I think this is a good product for the price. I think it will meet my needs and if anything changes I will update my initial impression. I bought this for a camping trip. I received it, unboxed it, read the extremely easy to follow guidelines and within 3 minutes I had my phone plugged in and charging in the middle of the night. It was super smooth and almost painless to use. I really like the included pocket to hold charging cables and other items. It fits great on my medium to small backpack and can't wait to get out and hike. Read more . . .

Foxelli Solar Charger In Conclusion

If you're looking for a solar charger that will do its job and at a reasonable price, then I can highly recommend this one. I've previously purchased a couple of other products from Foxelli, and I was very satisfied with the products and with my interactions with the company, so when I started looking for a way to keep my phone (and therefore GPS) charged on longer hiking and camping trips and saw that Foxelli produced a solar charger, it didn't take me long to click the Buy Now button. I did, however, read a few reviews and watch a few videos about it first. And if you came to this product after seeing it reviewed on You. Tube or elsewhere and then don't pay close attention to the product listing, you might be a bit disappointed. Check out Foxelli Solar Charger on Amazon now
