Hiluckey Solar Charger Power Bank Review

"In the back of my mind I just prayed that maybe his phone died, he didn’t have a phone charger with him, that he was sleeping, as soon as that page loaded and I saw his name first, I had to walk out of work because I was just so devastated. – Ryan Macauley"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Changing My Review!
Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2018 by Andrew Stoffel

"Ok, so I will admit I was pretty upset with a few things when I originally reviewed this product. However, after talking with customer support through e-mail (was kinda expecting it to happen on here but it is ok) I decided to change my review. I won't say all that I said in my previous version of my review, but I will say that they have an excellent customer support and truly do care about the customer and doing what is right. She was very kind and helpful to hear me out. In the end, I gave some ideas and support that is encouraging them to make improvements to this product beyond its current state. So take notice and look towards higher quality stuff. I see them improving it already! I got a full refund, but I am sincerely thinking of looking into buying the new and improved version. I want to know when it is released because I am excited! I will change my review to five star when I see improvements made."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Keep one ready for emergencies
Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2019 by Edward Strout

"I am a member of a Federal Disaster Response team and as such may find myself deployed to areas that have had power knocked out. I carry high capacity power packs but of course you need power to recharge those. This item was purchased for its solar charging capability. This is a much bigger and heavier unit than I expected, so it's not something I will carry in a pocket, but based on my testing I will carry it in my go bag. The attached pictures can give you an idea of the dimensions. To test the performance I fully charged the unit using a wall plug and then used it to charge my Samsung Galaxy S-7 until the power pack was fully drained. The nutshell report is that I got about 5 full recharges before the power pack was drained. 1st - phone from 7% to full in 1 hr 40 min 2nd - from 3% to full in in 1 hr 46 min 3rd - from 0% to full in 1 hr 45 min 4th - from 1% to full in 1 hr 54 min while using the phone to surf the web 5th - 0% to 45% in 42 minutes at which point the pack was drained. I then took the depleted pack outside and opened the solar panels to indirect sunlight and connected my depleted phone to it. That took my phone from 0% to 6% in one hour. I moved the pack into direct sunlight and the phone went from 6% to 13% in one hour. I then disconnected the phone and left the pack in direct sunlight for an additional 6 hrs and noted that the pack was displaying 1 light of charge capacity, (about 25%). Clearly, charging the pack by solar power alone will take several days to go from empty to full. However, since in the course of a normal work day my phone rarely falls below 50%, I feel comfortable that this unit will give me 9 to 10 recharges before running out of juice. If I set the unit into sunlight during the day and charge my phone in the evening, I imagine that I'll never be without power. The caveat...if deployed to a disaster, most of my phone use is accessing disaster related apps a few times per day, using GPS with pre-downloaded maps, and if lucky, phone or text with family and teammates. I might listen to stored music during downtime, but not streaming anything. My bottom line is that this item will go out the door with me, maybe as soon as this weekend with Hurricane Dorian on the way. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an emergency power pack. It's way too bulky for a day-to-day carry power source, but if you are expecting or planning to be completely without any electrical power for more than a couple of days, then this may be the way to go."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The battery life is no joke
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2019 by Me!YAY!

"So I bought this in 2018, a few weeks before my trip abroad. Because I can be quite lazy sometimes, I didn't charge it all the way before I left (it was on the first light). I had charged my phone and camera on the planeso they were fully charged. I was in Nigeria for two weeks and used this powerbank to charge my phone and camera. I didn't even open it to charge the bank via solar power (and there's plenty of sun in Nigeria). My powerbank lasted the entire two weeks, finally running out on the plane ride back. It was totally worth the money. I used my phone and camera for leisure and the power bank was great on only one charge/light. If I had used my phone for work or needed to use my laptop, I would have probably needed it to be fully charged. But again it worked great. It was pretty durable too (surviving a few falls, no cracks)."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3-Days needed to reach 100% charge using solar panels.
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2019 by Tesa W

"I purchased this solar charger to extend the battery life of my phone and Kindel Fire when I got on extended bike rides (40+ miles). It workes fine. I would suggest that you first fully charge it via an outlet (see instructions photo). A fully charged solar charger can be obtained via an outlet in about 2 hours, but charging with solar panels could take 36 hours. After fully charging the solar charger at home using an outlet, I connected the solar charger to my fully charged phone and Kindle Fire and exposed the solar panels to the sun in my front/rear bike basket (see photos). I maintain the charge in my devices while I ride for more than 5 hours! I can use my phone's fitness apps to track my ride and heart rate AND listen to books or music through using my Kindle Fire with headphones while to ride using the two of the three USB jacks. I plan to take it on camping and hiking trips by securing it to my backpack with Bungie cords. The built-in flashlight works but it is not as bright as my cellphones app flashlight. I'm pleased with my purchase. I assigned this device 4-stars because the instructions were deceptive about the time needed to charge the device using its solar panels. Pros: Nice design, variety of colors, comes with a USB cable, has three-USB ports, built-in flashlight, and palm-size. Cons: Weight (it's heavy), charging time using solar panels not given but an Amazon reviewer stated it takes 36 hours (three days!) to reach 100% charge. I left it in the sun for 10 hours an wasn't fully charged. So, I believe it will take about 36 hours to fully charge in the sun."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Solid solar charging power bank for the field
Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2019 by Brent D Race

"Visually appealing and seemingly well built. As per the instructions I fully charged the unit with the charging cable before using. After charging I drained the battery by charging my phone with it about 5 times. I then placed the unit in the Florida sun each day for about 4 or 5 hours per day. It took 6 days in the sun to fully charge the unit. Works how it is intended but be aware that solar charging should not be relied upon as the primary method of charging as it does take some time. Still, very useful for charging devices when out on a multi day backpacking trip. I have not left it in the rain yet to test how water proof it is."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Impressive charger
Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2019 by JCB

"I’m not a gadget guy, so ‘techtronics’ don’t impress me. This charger, however, is impressive. I charged it using an outlet per first-use instructions and have been trying to draw it down completely since. Although I have charged my cell phone six times already, it’s still showing two out of four capacity lights illuminated. The capacity lights don’t seem linear—i.e., the four lights decayed to just two quickly, but the two remaining lights have stayed lit for several days, over several charges. I anticipate getting at least 9 charge cycles for my iPhone, which is way better than any other battery pack charger I have used. The light on the back produces a soft white light, which I prefer over the intense LED light from my phone or small flashlights. The unit overall is bulky although the fold-out solar panels are quite thin. I tested the solar charging and it works but I haven’t done a full charge on it yet to gauge how long it will take. I would purchase this product again."

Best Solar Charger Power Bank Combo

The solar charger and power bank combo from Hiluckey is by far the best we have tried. Compared to other power bank solar charger combos it is just so much more powerful. ] It's great for everyday use and occasional camping expeditions and the seller is very adamant about customer satisfaction. Highly recommend! This product is great. I have never like a product more. A couple of weeks into ownership, however, a panel started lifting out of its housing for some unknown reason. I sent a message to the seller along with photos of the product and she replied with an apology and sent me a replacement within a few days. FREE OF CHARGE! Now that's what I call excellent customer service! I highly recommend this product and this seller! I am very pleased with this power supply. I took it camping and had power for three days thanks to the solar panels. Read more . . .

Cheap, functional, and effective power bank. Foes the job well. I have another unit like this of same battery capacity 25,000 m. Ah but it only has one solar cell. This one folds open and has a total of four solar cells. This makes a huge difference if you don't have access to electricity to recharge the unit. That could be the case when you are camping or just when there is a power failure. These device hold a huge charge, about 8 times more than what most cell phone batteries hold. Thus, you could run your cell phone for a good long time on this device. Read more . . .

Powerful Solar Charger Power Bank Combo

Unlike other solar chargers in this category, the Hiluckey got four solar panels instead of just one. I would recommend this product. It takes a long time to charge via solar, but if you’re not exhausting it it will do the job. This thing is awesome. I take it camping and when we go boating. It even works while you're charging it. Power banks with just one solar panel will take forever to charge a battery of any respectable size, and the Hiluckey has a 25000 m. Ah sized Li-polymer battery so it is a good thing it has four solar panels. Works well, but might not be suitable for all situations. Needs some adjustment when using in an area where there are many streams of electricity. Particularly if you plan on camping for a long time. Having a trusted solar power source will do the trick for short trips to places you will never be without power. This is an interesting product. The internal battery holds a charge very well and provides plenty of charges for anything needing to be charged, but the solar panel leaves much to be desired. The panels will charge a device but not the battery bank on this product. If you are looking for a device that will solar charge both devices and the battery itself, look elsewhere. Read more . . .

Usb Ports Solar Charger And Power Bank

This is a good backup when you have nowhere to recharge the power bank. It is a little heavier than other versions, but it's understandable since it also includes the foldable 4-section solar panels. I keep it open on the dashboard on a sunny day with a few drops of rain. I don't have to worry about my phone not having power when I bring it to you. It charges itself from the sun and it does work. It will charge a phone at least 4 times before requiring a charge itself. I need something to keep my phone charged on camping trips. Read more . . .

Multiple Times Solar Charger And Power Bank

Works great, but will require you to be out in the sun to recharge the power bank to full from the sun. Love it, would recommend. I've had this item for a week or so, mostly because I keep forgetting to charge my phone and it runs out of juice, but I've been charging it only with the Sun, and it has worked well. Will need to try it one of these days. The pack also includes a small light, which is nice to have it camping with you. It works great, charges quickly, and holds the charge over many days. Hiluckey Solar Charger In Conclusion

I am no longer without a way to power up my devices when I travel. I will still keep this unit in my "go bag" but it will be more convenient to carry around in the open. I only charge the unit once, and that was during my three day trip to Smoky Mountains. I had previously used a solar charger with a cap on the end that did not work. I had purchased this unit for hunting and also for emergencies. I am very impressed with how well this charges via the sun. I charged the unit at the beginning of the day, charged my phone, and then used the solar to keep it topped off. I have not tested yet how many times i can keep this unit charged with this solar charger. Check out Hiluckey Solar Charger on Amazon now
